time, the spirited Dipping Mustard that began by bringing pretzels
to life at the Train Station Restaurant in State College, PA has blossomed
into Herlocher's Dipping Mustard, an exciting, delicious culinary
experience. Behind Herlocher's Dipping Mustard is a story about the
power of consumers who know what they like.
It all began in February 1978, at the Train Station Restaurant in
State College, PA where our DIPP and pretzel combination became a
big hit with the bar crowd. Soon customers began asking us for dipp
to enjoy at home. As soon as Herlocher's Dipping Mustard became available
for "take-out", the word spread fast. Customers throughout the Northeast
sent checks requesting Herlocher's Dipping Mustard. During this important
time, we were producing Herlocher's Dipping Mustard in our kitchens.
Convinced that Herlocher's Dipping Mustard was as popular outside
of our restaurant as in, expansion began and Herlocher's Dipping Mustard
became available throughout the east.
In 1997, Herlocher's Penn State Dipping Mustard was introduced. It
was an immediate hit and quickly became a popular tailgate necessity.
We then introduced Herlocher's Ohio State Dipping Mustard. We hit
the mark again, so with two successes under our belt, we realized
it was time to expand our collegiate-labeled product offering. To
date, we have obtained trademark licensing from over 40 colleges and
universities nationwide. Our goal is to roll out these additional
collegiate-labeled products in late 2002 and early 2003.
Herlocher's Dipping Mustard is currently sold in over 100 grocery
store chains in 30 states. In areas not servied by retail stores,
mail order is available.
The success of Herlocher's Dipping Mustard is a reflection of the
stacks of letters and e-mail we constantly receive from customers
across the country ordering more. With their encouragement and support,
our story is only beginning, and there is no end in sight.
